Looking for family adventure holidays with an emphasis on surfing? Read about Moliets, in the south of France and you might just be tempted!

Europe has endless opportunities for family adventure holidays and France is particularly popular with active families looking for either winter or summer fun. If it is Mediterranean sunshine you’re looking for, though, Moliets, in the Aquitaine in the south west of France, is the place to go.

Perfect for family adventure holidays and with lots of activities on offer, Moliets is a town and beach resort located on the Atlantic Coast. Close to Soorts-Hossegor and Mimizan, although far smaller, this resort is just as renowned for its fabulous beaches and great water sports opportunities.

Introducing Moliets

The village of Moliets is set just a few kilometres inland from the coast. Traditional in its appearance, and boasting a charming church, the village is well known as a seaside resort for those keen to ride the waves and enjoy the wonderful beaches of the area. You can get involved in anything from volleyball to sea fishing, but you and your children may find yourselves yearning to get the surfboard out and join the other avid surfers who flock to the resort.

Moliets greatest appeal is the fact that it accommodates surfers of all levels – primarily because of its long beaches and scattered beach breaks, which make it ideal for those trying the sport for the first time as well as those more accustomed to it. There is a vibrant atmosphere and a genuine ‘surfing spirit’ that has arguably been lost in some of the larger, more famous surfing resorts close by. Children can enjoy surfing lessons in the morning and then spend their afternoons practicing, and if the adults prefer not to join in, they can relax and indulge in some sunbathing on the fine whites sands while they watch.

Evenings are just as much fun as day time; the beach is lit up by the colourful promenade and begins to buzz with the evening activity of the many restaurants, ice cream shops, pizzerias and surf shops.

Other Activities in Moliets

Family adventure holidays should not just focus on one activity and Moliets offers the opportunity to get involved in so much more than surfing. Close by the village, children can go kite flying or indulge in treetop adventures, and the whole family can have a game of the local boules, known as petanque. The Landes region is dominated by verdant forests, which are ideal for walking or cycling – and you can even go fishing, too. A visit to the Courant de Huchet Nature Reserve is a great option for a day out and you can take a picnic and spend a few hours exploring the tropical forest and inland lakes.

With no shortage of exciting activities in and around MolietsArticle Submission, family adventure holidays based here have the makings of a truly memorable experience.
